10k Voices participant terms

Last updated: November 3, 2026

These terms apply when you join 10k Voices, use the 10k Voices app or our websites, or take part in a study. 10k Voices is run by Echo Qualitative Project Support, trading as 10K Humans, 111 East 17th Street, Suite 12307, Austin, TX 78701 ("we", "us"). By joining or taking part you agree to these terms. Our privacy notice explains how we handle your information.

1. Who can join

You must be 18 or older to join 10k Voices. Young people can take part only in studies run for their age group, with a parent or legal guardian's signed consent.

2. Your account and your answers

  • Give us true and accurate information, and keep it up to date. Do not use a false name or pretend to be someone else.
  • One account per person.
  • Answer screeners and studies honestly. Do not use bots, scripts or other automated tools, and do not try to qualify by giving answers you know are untrue.
  • We may ask you to confirm your identity. If we find fraud, duplicate accounts or dishonest answers, we may remove you from a study or from 10k Voices without a thank-you payment.

3. Confidentiality

Studies often show you products, ideas and materials that are not public. Keep everything about a study confidential, during and after it, unless the study tells you otherwise. Do not share, copy, record or post it.

4. Recordings

Study sessions may be audio or video recorded. Recordings are used for research only, and the study's own terms explain how its client will use them. We tell you before anything is recorded.

5. Thank-you payments

  • Each study tells you its thank-you payment and what you need to do to earn it.
  • We pay through our payment providers, such as Tremendous or PayPal.
  • We may withhold a payment if you did not complete the study as agreed or broke these terms.
  • If incentives from us total $600 or more in a calendar year, we may need your tax details to report them, as US law requires.

6. Your answers and ideas

You keep ownership of what you share. You give us and the study's client permission to use your answers, recordings and ideas for research, including in reports to that client, without further payment. We do not put your name to your answers in what we share, unless the study needs it and you have agreed.

7. You are not an employee

Taking part in a study does not make you an employee, partner or representative of 10K Humans, 10k Voices or any client. Do not present yourself as one.

8. Using our app and websites

Do not misuse our app or websites: no illegal use, no attempts to break or overload them, no scraping, and no harassing or offensive content.

9. Ending your membership

You can leave 10k Voices at any time by emailing hello@10kvoices.com. We may suspend or end your membership if you break these terms. The sections on confidentiality, your answers and ideas, and limits on liability continue after you leave.

10. Our liability

We provide 10k Voices "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the thank-you payments you earned in the last 12 months or $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change matters, we will tell you before it applies to you.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
